Who we are
We are the devolved government for Wales.
The Welsh Government consists of:
- the First Minister
- Welsh Ministers
- the Counsel General
They are supported by civil servants who work across devolved areas that include key areas of public life such as health, education and the environment.
Wales has its own government, making policies and laws for our country.
We are working to help improve the lives of people in Wales and make our nation a better place in which to live and work.
Our responsibilities include:
- education
- health
- local government
- transport
- planning
- economic development
- social services
- culture
- Welsh language
- environment
- agriculture and rural affairs
We:
- make decisions on matters regarding these areas, for Wales as a whole
- develop policies and implement them
- propose Welsh laws (Assembly Bills)
