Appointment of Independent Member Finance

Remuneration of £15,936 with time commitment of 4 days per months

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to help shape the future of health care in the Gwent area and in NHS Wales through undertaking the role of an Independent Member at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. 

We are looking for a dynamic individual to undertake the role of an Independent Member Finance at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. The role will actively contribute to meeting the challenge of making a contribution to health and social care provision in line with the strategic direction of NHS Wales in the areas of Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport, Torfaen.

You will have specialist knowledge of Finance and also knowledge of local community issues and priorities, a citizen focused approach to championing the board’s purpose in serving the public and organisational experience, which will benefit the Health Board moving forward. Appointees will play a full and active role in the corporate and clinical governance of the health board, work closely with other public, private and third sector organisations and contribute to the good governance of the Health Board ensuring its openness and honesty by contributing fully to the Board’s decision making processes.

This appointment will be made on merit, although consideration will be given to the need to establish a balanced skills mix on the Board.

The Independent Member will be appointed for up to a four (4) year period. The posts of the Independent Members are based on notional time commitments of a minimum of four (4) days per month subject to organisational demands, but these are often higher than the minimum requirement. 

Meetings of the Health Board are usually held at Health Board Headquarters, St Cadoc’s Hospital, Caerleon, but could be held at venues across the Health Board area.

Mae gennym gyfle cyffrous i unigolyn helpu i lunio dyfodol gofal iechyd yn ardal Gwent ac yn GIG Cymru drwy ymgymryd â rôl Aelod Annibynnol o Fwrdd Iechyd Prifysgol Aneurin Bevan. 

Rydym yn chwilio am unigolyn deinamig i ymgymryd â rôl Aelod Annibynnol Cyllid ym Mwrdd Iechyd Prifysgol Aneurin Bevan. Bydd y rôl yn cyfrannu'n weithredol at ymateb i'r her o ddarparu iechyd a gofal cymdeithasol yn unol â chyfeiriad strategol GIG Cymru yn ardaloedd Blaenau Gwent, Caerffili, Sir Fynwy, Casnewydd a Thorfaen.

Bydd gennych ddealltwriaeth arbenigol o Gylllid a gwybodaeth hefyd am faterion a blaenoriaethau cymunedol lleol, y gallu i ddefnyddio dull gweithredu sy'n canolbwyntio ar y dinesydd i hybu pwrpas y Bwrdd o ran gwasanaethu'r cyhoedd ynghyd â phrofiad sefydliadol, y gall y Bwrdd Iechyd elwa arnynt yn y dyfodol. Bydd y sawl a benodir yn chwarae rhan lawn a gweithgar yng ngwaith llywodraethu corfforaethol a chlinigol y bwrdd iechyd. Bydd yn cydweithio'n agos â sefydliadau cyhoeddus, preifat a gwirfoddol eraill ac yn cyfrannu at lywodraethiant da yn y Bwrdd Iechyd gan sicrhau ei fod yn agored ac yn onest drwy gyfrannu'n llawn at brosesau'r bwrdd ar gyfer gwneud penderfyniadau.

Gwneir penodiadau ar sail teilyngdod ond rhoddir ystyriaeth i'r angen i gael amrywiaeth gytbwys o sgiliau ar y Bwrdd.

Penodir yr Aelod Annibynnol am gyfnod o hyd at bedair (4) blynedd. Mae swyddi Aelodau Annibynnol yn seiliedig ar ymrwymiad amser tybiedig o bedwar (4) diwrnod y mis o leiaf, ond bydd hynny'n amodol ar ofynion y sefydliad, a fydd yn aml yn fwy na'r isafswm gofynnol. 

Fel arfer, cynhelir cyfarfodydd y Bwrdd Iechyd ym Mhencadlys y Bwrdd Iechyd yn Ysbyty Sant Cadog, Caerllion, ond gellid eu cynnal mewn lleoliadau ar draws ardal y Bwrdd Iechyd.

Os ydych yn wirioneddol awyddus i chwarae rhan lawn a gweithgar yn y gwaith o lywodraethu Bwrdd Iechyd, ac i wneud gwahaniaeth go iawn i fywydau pobl Cymru, fe hoffem glywed oddi wrthych.

Mae'n bolisi gan Lywodraeth Cymru i hyrwyddo cyfle cyfartal a'i wneud yn rhan annatod o bob agwedd ar ei gwaith, gan gynnwys penodi i gyrff cyhoeddus.  Croesewir ac anogir ceisiadau gan bob grŵp ac rydym yn sicrhau na fydd unrhyw ymgeisydd cymwys am swydd gyhoeddus yn cael ei drin yn llai ffafriol ar sail oed, anabledd, rhywedd, statws priodasol, cyfeiriadedd rhywiol, ailbennu rhywedd, hil, crefydd neu ymlyniad crefyddol, na beichiogrwydd a mamolaeth. Bydd egwyddorion cystadleuaeth deg ac agored yn cael eu parchu, a phenodir ar sail teilyngdod.

Y dyddiad cau ar gyfer ceisiadau yw 06/11/2020 am 4pm.

Ni fyddwn yn ystyried ffurflenni cais a ddaw i law wedi’r dyddiad hwn. Disgwylir cynnal cyfweliadau yn ystod 11/01/2021.
