It is a really exciting time to join the Reach family. Due to our sustained growth and our ambitious future growth plans, we are now looking for a Social Media Editor to join our social team.

As a Social Media Editor, you will be managing social accounts for Reach's Nation brands - the Mirror, Daily Star Daily Express and OK! Magazine to drive web traffic, maximise engagement and increase brand awareness.

This role is home and hub based linked to our London Hub, but we are open to candidates based across the country.

What will the role involve?

  • Find and pitch stories using analytics and tools to tell you what's already trending, as well as finding the next big stories yourself
  • Edit and post stories and videos on our social pages
  • Come up with new creative ways to drive traffic to our sites and grow our audiencesForward plan social media content and coverage
  • Create best practice guidance for the newsroom
  • Cover live events and breaking news on social media
  • Monitor the competitive landscape to identify trends - and communicate findings
  • Share knowledge and best practice across the business, but particularly in the newsroom
  • Work in team managing Reach PLC's social media feeds and messages
  • Help to ensure Reach PLC content is getting maximum referrals from social media
  • Assist with product testing of new social media developments
  • This position will have some weekend working so a flexible approach is required

Who are we looking for?

  • A digitally savvy writer who is used to working within a fast-paced digital newsroom environment and has a strong understanding of the power of social media
  • Working in a fast environment whilst maintaining acute attention to detail will be something you are both comfortable in but also thrive at
  • Detailed knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok and other social media platforms
