BristolLive currently reaches more than 20 million people a month and we are looking for an experienced content editor to lead our fast-paced and highly creative news team and help us deliver audience growth and loyalty.
You'll be working with a team of content editors and writers to deliver quick-turnaround live news and agenda-setting regional content for BristolLive and its sister titles in Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire. You'll be working with the editors on each of our three websites to ensure the highest quality content and publishing standards for our three sites.
You'll be setting the pace and driving the content desk from first thing in the morning. You'll have an excellent news sense to ensure your team is focused on what matters and will be able to sell a story on social media and create content that surfaces quickly in search.
You'll be comfortable telling stories in a variety of different ways, including live blogging breaking news, packaging videos, using pictures and embedding multimedia, and will be able to make those stories stand out in newsfeeds across our social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
More than anything, you'll produce the kind of quick, accurate copy that people will keep coming back for.
The Ideal Candidate
You'll possess the analytical skills and insight to understand how our content, sites and social platforms are performing and be able to communicate that with our teams.
Our newsroom is fast-paced, experimental and innovative and we need people who enjoy the challenge of a truly digital newsroom, embrace change and have a willingness to learn.
We also need someone who is exceptionally organised, can deliver to deadlines, can lead a team and is happy presenting to clients and colleagues.
You'll work within our regional team, as part of the wider Reach Plc network, which includes titles such as the Mirror, Daily Express, Western Morning News, Manchester Evening News and Liverpool Echo.
