Reach plc has an opening for a Commercial Audience Writer to join our team!

This role exists as part of a regional-wide hub that creates, organises and distributes brilliant paid-for content. So one day you could be writing about a fancy housing development or reasons young people should make a will, and the next you're pulling together a super engaging quiz for a client who wants to promote their zoo.

This job is nothing sort of varied and challenging and puts both our audience AND our clients at the heart of everything we do.

Comfortable working remotely on a job for any region, you will want to be involved in special projects too. You are dynamic, creative and wonderful to work with. You adore digital storytelling whatever the subject and you also love print. In short, you're a journalist who wants to tell stories and deliver for clients.

In this role you will create content to support the brilliant paid for campaigns we run across our network - but with particular focus on Manchester.

We are looking for someone who is a creative writer and thinker. You will be comfortable in front of the camera as part of your digital storytelling skillset or hosting a Facebook Live, live Tweeting from an event if required or writing brilliant content for a print supplement.

This post will have home working flexibility, but some travel may be required post-lockdown.

So who are we?

Hello, we are Reach! You might not have heard of us but we have probably met without you even realising it. We are home to the UK and Ireland's most iconic digital platforms, magazines and newspapers. From the Mirror, Daily Express and OK!, to our regional titles such as the Liverpool Echo, BirminghamLive and the Manchester Evening News (plus lots more), our brands and the stories we cover are as varied as our people. We help all kinds of people share experiences through our stories because we believe this is what makes us human. Oh, and we should probably also mention that with a monthly readership of 47 million people, Reach is the largest commercial publisher in the UK. At Reach, not only will you feel better understood, you will also feel you understand other people better too.

What will the role involve?

As part of our Editorial Revenue team, you will be producing engaging stories for the commercial side of our business. What you do helps us generate revenue. As such, you will be coached by editors who'll support you in the development of your career path. You'll be working closely with our newsrooms and sponsorship teams, providing updates on campaigns as they go so that an event's coverage runs smoothly from start to finish.

As an Commercial Content Writer you will attend events we run all over the country and help document the evening and successes for those involved. You will have a voice in our team and will be asked to contribute new ideas and initiatives to keep our awards campaigns fresh and fabulous.

Who are we looking for?

  • You will be a creative individual able to deal with sensitive interviews on the phone or in person, write clean copy under pressure and to deadline
  • Have a genuine passion for writing and have strong literary skills.
  • You will have a good understanding of social media, and be excited to use video to help tell people's stories.
  • Due to the nature of the role you must have a full driver's licence.
  • Reach PLC or equivalent journalist qualification (or relevant time-served experience).
  • Ability to work well under deadline pressure
  • Be someone who's totally lovely to work with!
