Buzz is the leading digital brand attached to the award-winning Irish Daily Star and its agenda-setting journalism. The website is now set for a significant relaunch and we're looking for a highly-skilled Content Editor with the right attitude to take the site forward.

As content editor you will manage the digital editorial operations of the brand, developing it in line with company strategy.

We're looking for fresh ideas and new perspectives from people from a wide range of backgrounds, and we want you to tell us the stories you believe are important from our many communities so we can continue to diversify our content.

What will the role involve?

The role of Content Editor comes with a wide range of responsibilities which will include just some of the following:

    Help to lead the team to achieve digital audience growth and engagement targetsEnsure that resources at all levels in our newsrooms are clearly focused and managed as effectively as possible to deliver their digital targetsResponsible for delivering registered users strategyEnsure effective use of social media tools by newsroom staffAct as editor and brand champion of our news brandsPlay an ambassadorial role for your regions brands and the business as a whole, in person and via social mediaSupports local and executive management in the delivery of overall strategyTaking accountability for the fair and consistent application of all our people policies, procedures and processes.Fostering a high-performance culture by setting clear expectations and having in-the-moment performance discussions.Developing a culture of trust, where people are safe to speak up, clear on their role in the team's success and empowered to be their best at work.Rewarding and recognising great performance, celebrating people's achievements and successes.Ensuring the continued development of team members, supporting them to reach their full potential.

Who are we looking for?

    You will have a deep knowledge of media law and IPSO code of practiceWe want you to have a passion for digital storytelling in local communitiesYou will have social media and SEO experienceYou will have strong knowledge of the local area, you'll know what matters to the people that live thereYou will be NCTJ qualified or equivalent
