Additional Learning Support at BTC has a dedicated, highly qualified and experienced team. The staff work closely with Cross College staff in organising and implementing a wide range of support programmes each tailored to the needs of individual learners.
As a SpLD Assessor, you will respond to referrals by assessing the needs of each learner through consideration of previous evidence/assessment, and carrying out screening and diagnostic testing where required to ensure that appropriate support is implemented.
You will carry out diagnostic testing and screening assessments, ensuring appropriate support strategies can be provided to students with SpLDs; including dyslexia, dyscalculia and dyspraxia, particularly in relation to examination access arrangements.
You will have the ability and motivation to actively seek to improve the service by networking and sharing practices with other education providers, working in partnership with schools to share information, including the transfer of agreed examination access arrangements from school to college.
