Associate Lecturer – Nurse Educator (Mental Health)

Salary: £26.32 - £29.84 per hour

Location: University Centre Somerset, Taunton Campus TA1 5AX

We are seeking a dynamic, innovative and highly motivated Mental Health Nurse to join our Higher Education curriculum team in Taunton to participate in the delivery of our degree level Nursing programmes. This role is based within our clinical teaching team as we embark on full roll-out of Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) approved programmes in partnership with the University of the West of England.

We have been working together with employers across the integrated care system in Somerset to provide local solutions for those wanting to pursue a Nursing career and to develop education pathways aimed at widening participation for local people of all ages. The post-holder will play a vital role in delivery of direct entry Nursing programmes as well as apprenticeship Nursing programmes.

The successful candidate will deliver high quality teaching, learning and assessment and work alongside the higher education teaching community at the University Centre Somerset.

UCS have invested significantly in facilities to support nurse education and the post holder will benefit from teaching in our brand-new Clinical Skills and Simulation Centre, supporting learners to maximise their potential, as well as contributing to the effective running of modules and courses.

We are looking to appoint a Registered Mental Health Nurse with contemporary experience in education. Prospective candidates are required to hold a current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council on Part 1 of the register, hold a teaching qualification at level 6 or above, or be willing to work towards.
