When we opened in 1993 the UK’s pre-packed sandwich market was relatively young and our production concentrated on a very small range of products. Since then the market has grown and at Bradgate Bakery we are proud to work with our market-leading customer Tesco in this developing sector; Tesco is the UK’s leading sandwich retailer*. What was once a simple sandwich range has been replaced by a huge variety of products including bagels, wraps and ciabatta, with an array of ingredients and packaging types, all to meet the changing tastes, seasons and demands of our consumers. As well as our extensive private-label business for many of the UK’s leading food retailers and food service companies, we also own popular consumer brands such as Ginsters, Soreen, West Cornwall Pasty Co, Urban Eat, Dickinson & Morris and Walker & Son and are a major shareholder in Higgidy.
