Team Leader Reboot West

Reboot West helps care leavers across the region to succeed in education, training, and work. It is an innovative programme, trialling the use of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to enable young people to develop psychological flexibility and fulfilling lives. We are now expanding the programme and are seeking a Team Leader to hold a small caseload and manage a EET & Wellbeing Coaches to provide long term and essential support to Reboot young people.

We are a leading youth homelessness charity based in the South West, working with over 2,500 young people. What we are looking for:

  • You will be able to lead, manage and motivate a small team.
  • You are adept at managing competing priorities.
  • You have experience of working effectively with young people to secure and sustain education and employment.
  • You are keen to develop expertise in ACT approaches and to share learning and educate colleagues.
  • You thrive when working under pressure, juggling tasks whilst remaining positive and focussed.

What you will be doing:

  • You will support, motivate and manage a small team comprising EET and Wellbeing Coaches and a Participation Worker.
  • You will hold a small caseload of young people, using creative approaches to help improve their wellbeing and enable them to access and sustain work and training.
  • You will work closely with local authority colleagues to ensure a joined-up offer (acting as the lead Reboot manager contact with North Somerset Council).
  • You will work with other managers and partners to develop the project, ensuring consist high quality EET coaching underpinned by ACT.

You will be in the Reboot West team and your line manager will be Meghan Joyce.

Contract details: 

  • Hours per week: 37.5 (this represents full time hours)
  • Contract type: Fixed term until 31 July 2022 (with possible extension, subject to funding)
  • Pay: NJC scale 22-25, £27,041 - £29,577
  • The location: You will be based in Kingsley Hall, close to Bristol’s main train and bus stations as well as the vibrant city centre. You will also be required to do outreach work with young people, mostly in the North Somerset area. During the COVID-19 pandemic you will be primarily working from home.

Covering Letter / Supporting Statement Guidance

Your Covering Letter is essentially your Supporting Statement and will form the most important basis on which your skills, experience and behavioural competencies will be tested against the job criteria.  Without it, your application cannot progress to the shortlisting stage. 

You should refer to the Person Specification document within the Job Pack and cover only the elements that are tested at this stage of the recruitment process.  Elements that only have the word ‘interview’ next to them will be tested at the next stage of the process and do not need to be covered in your letter.
