Our client are looking for a Drug and Alcohol Worker to join their friendly team at HMP Guys Marsh.

Hours: Part time, 17.5 hours per week (to include some weekend working)
Salary: £18,685 to £23,230 per annum FTE depending on experience
Contract: Permanent

As a Drug and Alcohol Worker, you’ll be responsible for working with and motivating adult male prisoners to engage in recovery. This will involve you delivering a range of interventions, including key-working, strengths based assessment, recovery planning, structured group and 1:1 work and drug testing.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you’ll deliver an integrated service through the provision of assessment, recovery planning and appropriate referral, and psychosocial interventions. This includes liaising effectively with partnership agencies in order to ensure continuity of care, key working and access to appropriate services.

They’re looking for enthusiastic people with:

- Experience working in a similar role, including undertaking assessments and delivering substance misuse psychosocial interventions in 1:1 and group work settings

- A good understanding of group working and group dynamics

- Competent group work facilitation skills

- Confidence to constructively challenge behaviour where appropriate

- Some knowledge and understanding of mental health issues

- Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills

- Experience managing your own priorities in order to carry a diverse workload with competing demands

Just as importantly, you’ll have a genuine interest in the understanding of substance misuse problems and a positive, recovery focused attitude.
