We are recruiting for temporary cover for an Energy Conservation Officer post in the council's Energy Services Team. Our team leads on high profile projects, drives the council's net zero carbon ambition, and delivers a number of services to other parts of the council.

Our Energy Conservation Officers have a range of duties, with the main responsibilities including:

Visiting council buildings, housing estates with communal heating systems and schools to carry out monitoring and targeting audits, producing reports for premises manages on the energy use of their sites and recommendations to reduce consumption
Providing written and verbal advice on energy-related matters to premises managers and other council departments
Analysing energy-related datasets, including weather corrections
Supporting and delivering energy efficiency projects across a range of building typesA DBS check is required to carry out visits to schools and children's centres. However, we are willing to take someone without a current DBS and will assign them to non-school/children centre sites until their DBS is completed

Education and Experience Required:

Engineering, building services or building construction related degree or equivalent qualification

Experience of energy management in a local authority or comparable public or private organisation.
