About the company:

GK Apprenticeships are recruiting on behalf of Flint International, a successful provider of professional services to the telecommunications and IT sectors. Through their extensive technical and industry knowledge, they design services that reduce costs, provide international scaling and enable customers to accelerate the introduction of new technologies. 

They’re looking for two Apprentice IT Network Engineers to join them on a two year apprenticeship.

What you’ll be doing:

As an Apprentice IT Network Engineer, you’ll learn how to deliver comprehensive technical support to customers. 

Working alongside an experienced team, you’ll be shown how to deliver a variety of networking tasks to a high standard. Specifically, you will:

- Install servers, routers and switches into data centre environments 
- Deploy and configure physical and virtual hosts 
- Install and configure virtual hosting environments 
- Integrate and test services 
- Support the roll-out of migrations 
- Help Field Engineers with tasks at customer’s sites

What you’ll need:

To join the team as an Apprentice IT Network Engineer, you’ll need: 

- At a minimum, two A Levels (or equivalent) including at least one IT or science-related subject 
- At least five GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths at grade C/4 or above 
- A full driving licence 
- To be self-motivated and eager to increase your own levels of experience and training 
- The ability to work well as part of a team and on your own initiative

Experience of any of the following would be beneficial but is by no means essential: IP routing and switching, Cisco routers and switches, Linux/Unix virtualisation, writing and debugging shell scripts or 1st and 2nd line support.

Other organisations may call this role Apprentice Network Engineer, Apprentice IT Engineer, Junior IT Technician, Trainee Network Support Technician, Apprentice Network Support Analyst, or Technical Support Advisor. 

This role would also be suitable for those considering an IT Apprenticeship, IT Internship, IT Training Programme, IT Support Apprenticeship, or an IT Engineering Apprenticeship.
