Position: Play Specialist
Location: HMP Pentonville, London N7 8TT
Job type: Part Time, Fixed Term Contract, ending 31st Dec 2022
Hours: 26.25 hours per week, includes weekend work on Saturdays and Sundays
Salary: GBP16,800 per annum (GBP24,000 Pro Rata)

About the role:
This role will lead on an exciting new project overseeing provision for children visiting HMP Pentonville. Working as a member of the Family Services team at HMP Pentonville you will with focus on improving the experience for children visiting the prison, on delivering high quality engaging play activities for children visiting the prison to see their loved one.
As a Play Specialist you are responsible for training and supporting our play volunteers and student placements. You ensure prisoners, their children, carers and other relatives have access to appropriate advice, guidance, learning opportunities, care and support to better enable them to maintain or enhance positive relationships.
About you:
To be successful as a Play Specialist you will work closely with Pact and prison staff to plan, resource and manage visits relating to children, such as family days and child-centred visits, in addition to providing warm, human support and ensuring that children, families and prisoners are treated with respect, dignity and courtesy and ensuring that their needs are considered and views are heard at all levels.
