MET Technician / Mechanical, Electrical and Trim (Body Shop)​

Our client is one of the UK’s largest independent Group of Accident Repair Centres. They have a network of 15 sites located across Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Humberside and have a projected turnover of £52m for 2019 and employ 375 staff. 

They now have an opportunity for an MET Accredited Bodyshop Technician to join their existing team.

The MET Technician will be responsible for undertaking panel repair and replacement and removal and replacement of mechanical, electrical and trim items on motor vehicles. 

Your day to day duties will include:

Detecting and diagnosing any faults for repair
Interpreting and implementing technical instruction data
Ensuring diagnostic equipment is used accurately on all repairs
Completing all assigned jobs within estimated repair times
Ensuring that all vehicles comply with safety standards when work is completed

Their ideal candidate will hold a Senior MET ATA qualification, or an equivalent NVQ Level 3 both of which have ideally been taken in the last 3 years, so are still current. That said, applicants will be considered from candidates that don’t have these qualifications but instead have extensive experience as a Panel Technician. Applicants must be willing to take their MET ATA qualification, along with welding accreditation and any other qualifications deemed to be required, all of which would be arranged at their cost.

Components, materials and consumables used
Partner checklist audit against standards and guidelines
Customer satisfaction (CSI)

In return, they are offering a salary of between £25k to £40k (based on hours sold bonus scheme), plus pension, 22 holidays, 8 public holidays, Perkbox and UK Healthcare.

The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. 8 hours per day which can be worked flexibly to suit during the opening hours of the site.
