What will I be doing?

Good question!

Technology underpins the entire business, so as you can imagine, their tech team is quite important...

As an Android Developer, you will focus on adding new features to their existing Java application. The company have plans to upgrade the Android app to Kotlin in the future so experience with both would be a big advantage! The company want to make the application as user-friendly and easy to use as possible so you should be someone that always strives for this.

Although much of your time will be spent working on the Android app, you might have to do some work on the iOS app too, so experience working across Android and iOS would really make you stand out.

As part of a small team, you'll be working super closely with other Mobile Developers, Designers and Product people to ensure that everything about the app is up to standard.

Who am I?

Don't worry, this isn't one of those organisations who wants a ninja, superstar, superhero just someone as I mentioned above that is fanatical about their craft. They also don't care if you are self-taught, have a degree, worked as a Scientist or a pro sportsperson in a previous life. They know good developers come from all sorts of different backgrounds.

Ideally, you'll have worked in a small organisation or start-up before. This isn't essential but it'll help you to come in and hit the ground running! Due to the size of the company, you won't be able to shy away so you should be someone that is outgoing.

Who will I be working with?

As mentioned, you'll be working closest with other Mobile Developers within the team. You'll also work closely with the Software Developers, Designers, Product people and much more - they pride themselves on having a close-knit bunch.

Having already secured substantial funding earlier in the year, they've recently went through another funding round which was hugely successful, which is why they're looking to bring in several more people to the team.

How much will I be getting paid and where will I be based?

You probably want to know this before applying.

There is a salary range in place of GBP35,000 - GBP50,000? With added benefits which include a strong holiday package, career growth and the chance to work on something that genuinely matters!

As you've probably guessed during the 'situation' we're in - you'll be interviewed and on-boarded remotely.

The company is HQ'd in Edinburgh City Centre, so the office is easily accessible. When safe to do so, they will expect you to spend most of your time in the office or at least be commutable to the office a couple of times per week.
