Our client is a not-for-profit housing association committed to providing affordable local homes for customers. They have over 6,500 homes for affordable rent and shared ownership in Wiltshire, Somerset and Bath and North East Somerset and employ nearly 300 staff from offices in Trowbridge and Melksham. 

The role
Reporting to the Income and Lettings Manager, the Account Manager collects rental income and supports customers to prioritise their rent.

The role has the following main responsibilities;

  • Monitoring and reviewing rent and service charge accounts, as well as ensuring legal and court procedures are correctly followed.
  • Providing information and involving customers in improvement, changes, policy development and performance management at an individual and service level.
  • Visiting tenants in their homes to support them, with universal credit claims, dealing with government agencies and help to resolve problems, including payments to reduce the arrears.

 
What you need
For this role you’ll need to have the following skills and experience;

  • Educated to GCSE level.
  • Relevant experience and knowledge of income recovery or debt management/housing management.
  • People management and performance reporting skills.
  • Up to date knowledge of current legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of customer involvement and community engagement channels and methods.
  • Experience of how to use IT systems.
  • A Track record of developing and sustaining effective partnerships with community groups and other agencies and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and proactively.
