This position of Purchasing Assistant has been created to provide support to a busy division. Based at Cambridge Science Park our client has large, spacious offices and onsite parking. You'll be partnering closely with another colleague and work between home and the office.
Attracting a salary of GBP20,000- GBP23,000 this 14 month contract is ideal for someone who has a couple of years' experience within a busy administrative or procurement role, you'll be pro-active by nature, enjoy being given the trust to really get on with the job at hand whilst equally enjoy partnering closely with another colleague to ensure between you, you are working efficiently and effectively.
On a day to day level you will see yourself:
* Creating purchase orders, checking if correct approvals are in place and placing orders with suppliers.
* Managing and updating the PO database.
* Monitoring and chasing any outstanding orders.
* Receiving in deliveries, matching with orders and filing delivery notes ensuring all is logged on the main system
* Order, receive and distribute journal article requests and books
* Assisting with booking in deliveries and stock takes
* Liaising with suppliers, requesting quotations, and negotiating prices.
* Ad hoc duties as and when required
