Personal Care Assistant
I am looking for an additional member of my care team, predominantly Monday to Friday with the occasional Saturday. For around 16 - 20 hours a week. Some flexibility will be required to meet my needs. The role will be paid at GBP9.00 per hour until all training and probationary periods are completed. This will then increase to an agreed amount per hour.
I have an Acquired Brain Injury. My wife and close family have been supporting me for the last few years and will continue to do so. My health care needs are complex and managed with medication. I am unable to communicate verbally and you will need to take guidance and advice from my family as to what I am asking for. I have always enjoyed an active life and am particularly interested in all types of sport. I would like to have more trips out, which may include watching more live sport.
The ideal candidate should have previous experience in Health and Social Care. You must also be able to demonstrate a high level of professionalism and integrity, and respect my home. You will be required to support me with all necessary aspects of my daily routine as well as support me with any therapies out in the community, including some hospital visits. You will be required to take advice from my family and work closely with them.
The successful candidate must be flexible, motivated and take on a practical 'can do' attitude towards all aspects of my care and be willing to learn. You will need to liaise with my family. You will be required to complete training which will enable you to support me with all necessary aspects of my daily life. You will be expected to build an open and trusting relationship with me as an individual and learn how to communicate with me effectively always taking direction from my wife and family.
Due to the consequences of my injury the successful candidate will need to be a non-smoker.
