Dove Resourcing is looking to source passionate and experienced individuals who have experience working with young people with behavioural and emotional difficulties.

A client we support has a small number of residential children's home in Leicestershire and are looking to add to their committed staff team with a few new members of staff.

The home is a 3 bed unit that supports young people with EBD issues - these young people are generally in their teenage years and can at times present behaviours that are quite challenging / aggressive in nature - so resilience to this and experience of working with such incidences will be important in this line of work.

The services as closely as possible represents a family group setting - it tries to reflect this in each shift by having a mixed gender duty team, they also have a culturally diverse staff team which aims to reflect the community in which the young people will leave after leaving care.

This position is shift work, members of the care team all work on a rota'd basis - this can include working earlies / lates and weekend work as dictated by the rota. Staff are also expected to complete sleep ins in line with the needs of the service - at this time the expectation on staff is to be able to commit to 2 or 3 sleep ins each week.

As a Senior Residential Care Worker you will:

  • To lead a committed staff team.

  • Complete Staff supervisions on a weekly basis.

  • To interact with the young people and be a positive role model for them.

  • To always ensure that the highest standards of safe working practices are adhered to.

  • Ensure the smooth running of each shift in line with Company expectations and Ofsted and children home regulation guidelines.

  • To participate in the domestic tasks throughout the home while encouraging the inclusion of the young people to do so themselves to practice self-care skills.

  • Ensure each young persons tailored care plan is kept updated and implemented.

  • Provide accurate reports - including any incident reports.

The staff team would be required to work on shift and complete their share of sleep in shifts. You would be expected to receive a salary between GBP23,500 - GBP25,500.

All applicants must be able to drive - this is a permanent job opportunity with the successful applicant being subject to DBS and referencing checks.
