We are looking for an Production Technician (L2) to join our team in Welwyn Garden City.

Ideally, you have formal electronic engineering apprenticeship or HNC/D background .
Core work will be routine production operations and occasionally supporting new product introduction. You will need good manual dexterity, working with very small components.

Salary GBP24000-GBP28000 plus DOE

JOB PURPOSE:
To carry out the assembly, testing and packaging of sterile active implantable medical devices. To
provide servicing support for post-market devices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS:
1. Assembling electro-mechanical assemblies and finished devices in a clean room environment.
2. In-house servicing of post-market medical devices.
3. Completing batch, and other, documents diligently and accurately thereby assuring robust records.
4. Planning work along with supervisor.
5. Maintain material stock levels.
6. Ensuring compliance to all procedures and the quality management system.
7. In-process inspection of own work and independent verification of other's work.
8. Using assembly equipment and systems.
9. Active involvement with process and product development alongside the R&D team.
10. Communicating with teams at Welwyn Garden City and Bristol.
11. Health and safety: to take reasonable care of the health and safety of themselves and others.
COMPETENCIES/SKILLS:
1. Education: Good secondary education.
2. Ideally to have completed an electro-mechanical apprenticeship or similar higher education award
in this or an associated area e.g. HNC, HND or Level 3 NVQ in a relevant area.
3. Experience of electro-mechanical assembly in medical device, aerospace or defence sectors would
be advantageous.
4. Demonstrable practical skills in a number of the following skills is required: soldering, laser welding,
winding, moulding, coating, chemical handling. Manual dexterity is very important.
5. Knowledge of, and worked to the requirements of industry standards e.g. IPC-A-610 and quality
