Machining Supervisor (Working)

My client has over 30 years of industrial experience in the design, manufacture and installation of bespoke specialist mechanical machines.

Due to an increasing workload, my client is currently recruiting for a Machining Supervisor who can oversee the day to day activities of a small team of machinists. The supervisor must also be capable of providing direct hands on support of programming and operation on the machine tools as production needs dictate.

As a Machining Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

?? Ensuring all operatives are aware of workplace safety, risk assessments, method statements and inspection schedules for all machine tools.

?? Demonstrating excellent planning, coordination, and organisational skills.

?? Understanding machining drawings, dimensions and tolerances to enable a range of parts to be manufactured to specification first time every time

?? Seeking ways to enhance process and procedures, so familiarity with best practices and process is also a benefit.

?? Ensuring there is appropriate and timely communication with all Project stakeholders.

?? Accurately reporting, both verbal and written on progress of project deliverables and KPI's.

?? Working within budgets and to strict manufacturing deadlines.

?? Be client facing and have the potential to grow the machining side of the business

?? Determining future machining needs and assist in procurement of new machine tools

?? Practically supervising apprentices

In order to be considered for the Machining Supervisor role, you must:

?? Have a strong CNC machining background

?? Ideally the candidate will have experience of supervising in a machining environment
