Recruiting now – North East Children and Young People’s Inpatient Services

Due to an expansion of our children and young people's inpatient services at Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (CNTW), we are looking for caring, empathetic, enthusiastic and motivated individuals who have a passion to improve the lives of children and young people who require care in an inpatient setting.

Staff coming into our children and young people’s inpatient services will have excellent opportunity for both personal development and career progression.

We have a range of full, part time and flexible bank opportunities for Registered Nursing staff at Bands 5, 6 and 7 across our Newcastle, Northumberland and Teesside children and young people’s inpatient services.  We also have Nursing Assistant, Band 3 opportunities in Teesside.

These posts involve supporting children, young people and their families to ensure their emotional, physical, educational and recreational needs are met at a difficult time in their lives.

Whilst having knowledge and experience of children and young people’s mental health and learning disability services is desirable, having the right values and attitudes and the desire to work in a challenging but rewarding environment is essential.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be motivated to engage and adapt to fast-changing patient presentations in a dynamic ward environment. You will be able to demonstrate skills in promoting good relationships and effective communication with children and young people, their relatives and carers, all members of the team, as well as multi-agency colleagues.

We will provide you with a comprehensive induction period and have access to ongoing clinical supervision and appraisal with development review that will provide you with support and the specialist skills required to meet the holistic needs of the children and young people in your care.
