Our client has attained an unrivalled position as one of the largest and most successful structural steelwork contractors in the UK. Involved in high profile building projects, they have the design and engineering skills to handle complex projects requiring high added value engineering content.

They are currently looking to recruit an experienced Plant Instructor/NVQ Assessor to join their team based out of either their Bolton or Thirsk sites. Your primary brief will be to deliver a variety of SHE/Plant and Machinery training courses in addition to:

  • Undertaking Vocational Competency Assessments including overhead crane, forklift truck, abrasive wheels and manual handling.
  • Assessing vocational engineering construction qualifications (i.e. steel erectors, welder & platers) and ensuring
  • Creating and updating current training courses ensuring they meet the relevant criteria.
  • Maintaining accurate and up to date electronic and paper-based training files.

In addition to up to date knowledge of H&S legislation applicants should also possess experience of construction, steel fabrication and steel erection. This is a multi-site role requiring the successful candidate to deliver memorable and informative training courses to a wide range of people. The following qualifications would be desirable but not essential:

  • Health & Safety qualification, preferably NEBOSH.
  • Teaching and or Training qualification i.e. PTLLS/AET.
  • Assessor or Internal Quality Assurer qualification, D32-33 - A1/V1 TAQA.
  • Be a registered NOCN / ProQual/ECITB assessor.
  • Be RTITB & IPAF/plant instructor.
  • Hold current CSCS/CPCS
