Learning Manager - ESOL and Family Learning

Salary: GBP37,000 - GBP39,000 depending on experience

Hours: 37 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen to manage ESOL and Family Learning within City College Southampton.

ESOL is a large outstanding curriculum area with excellent achievement rates delivering Skills for Life language learning provision from Pre-Entry-Level 2 in the following subjects: ESOL, Language of Maths and Employment Skills to learners aged 16 and above. The majority of students are adults.

The curriculum area is well established and meets the needs of a very diverse range of individuals such as settled second language citizens and Refugees in the local community. Classes are offered at the main site and at local learning centres in the community.

The successful candidate will be a champion for excellent teaching and learning within their team, committed to maintaining outstanding outcomes for students and developing strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Based at our main site, your role will focus primarily on leading a team of dedicated teachers. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the day to day running of the area, engaging with stakeholders and carrying out teaching duties.

While this post is suitable for someone considering their first college management post, applicants must already have demonstrated and be able to evidence leadership potential in their current post. Candidates with experience of leading a team will be required to evidence a successful track record in achieving positive outcomes for students.

You will be able to work as both part of a team as well as individually and have exceptional interpersonal skills. Please see the job description for more information. The salary is dependent on experience and negotiable for the right candidate.
