HSE Advisor

Our national engineering and renewables client based in Blyth are looking for a Health, Safety and Environment Advisor to join them on a fixed term contract for 12 months.

Job Role

• Provide advice, guidance and hands-on assistance on all HSE related matters
  
• Support the HSE Manager to ensure the on-going suitability of the SHEQ management system for the business
• Support employees to ensure they carry out suitable and sufficient risk assessments
• Work closely with Managers/Supervisors to develop and maintain procedures/SSOW for high risk activities on site (e.g. working at height, confined spaces, high voltage systems, heavy lifting, construction activities, etc???)
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near-misses in a timely manner to identify root causes and corrective actions to prevent a recurrence
• Carry out HSE inductions for any new Blyth employees
• Carry out HSE internal audits in line with the annual SHEQ auditing programmes

Skills/Experience

• Experience of working in high hazard/heavy engineering environments (essential)
  
• Experience of working with HSE management systems certified to ISO45001 and ISO14001
• Experience of working on construction projects as an HSE practitioner
• Excellent prioritisation and self-organisation skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent
