Test Engineer
As the Test Engineer you will efficiently undertake testing and produce test reports in line with the requirements of ISO17025 and IATF16949. You will also support the development and maintenance of the test laboratory.
Your key deliverables:
- You will perform tests as generated by incremental development projects, CE technical file testing and competitor evaluation testing.
- You will ensure that the quality of testing and laboratory reports are in line with ISO 17025 requirements and the customers (both internal and external) expectations
- You will contribute towards maintaining ASTA Intertek ISO17025 laboratory recognition and expand scope as required and contribute towards maintaining IATF16949 laboratory recognition and expand scope as required
- You will support the maintenance and calibration of all equipment used for measurements
- You will maintain laboratory documentation including IEC, EN, BS, UL and CSA standards, work instructions, training matrixes, sample location and test report log
- You will ensure that Eaton safety requirements are met and we retain a zero accident rate year
- You will be responsible for supervising and training apprentices and interns in any testing undertaken
- You will perform testing on behalf of QA to investigate customer complaints and compile reports suitable for transmission to the customer
- You will maintain laboratory 5S
- You will participate in BEAMA, BSI and IEC standard committee work in order to succeed experienced engineers approaching retirement
- You should organise and witness high power testing as required
- Sound experience of working in an electrical testing laboratory
- Electrical related higher qualified
- Able to understand and interpret international standards and perform tests accordingly
- Able to provide absolute honesty in performing and reporting results. Not persuaded to produce results in Eaton's favour when performance is marginal
- Possessing in general hands on workshop skills- such as machining, soldering and hand tools.
- Self driven, pro-active, customer focused
- Well organized and capable of managing multiple complex task to completion
- Able to communicate solutions confidently to internal and external customers
- A good communicator to all levels
- Able to demonstrate a positive and enthusiastic attitude
