Accounts Senior / Accounts Technician

Accountancy Practice recruitment specialists Clark Wood are delighted to be working with a progressive firm of Chartered Accountants in Berkhamsted who are looking to add an ambitious Accounts Senior / Accounts Technician to their personable and professional team.
As an Accounts Senior / Accounts Technician your role will be varied but predominantly consist of providing Accounting and Tax compliance services to a varied portfolio of clients including limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships.
The workload will include the preparation of draft statutory and management accounts as well as personal and corporate tax compliance. You will also conduct the review of VAT returns and deal with VAT queries as necessary.
This role offers the successful candidate an excellent level of responsibility and autonomy as you will work towards having responsibility for your own portfolio of clients as well as being involved in the development of junior members of the team.

They will provide training and study support to individuals looking to pursue or continue with the ACA / ACCA qualification. The ideal candidate for the position may be AAT Qualified or may already be working towards their ACA / ACCA qualification. Recent experience of undertaking a varied practice position is essential.

Duties & Responsibilities:
The role will predominantly involve preparing draft statutory accounts, management accounts and corporation tax computations and returns
Preparation of personal tax returns
Managing & supervising the work of more junior staff
Preparation and review of VAT returns
You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively under pressure to meet strict deadlines and work well within a team.
Involvement with business advisory work
Skills:
AAT Qualified or ACA / ACCA Part Qualified
QBE candidates will also be considered
Experience of undertaking a varied practice role
Up to date knowledge of all relevant accounting standards
