Assistant Accountant

Venture Recruitment Partners are working with a well-known business in Newbury who are looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant on a permanent basis.

The purpose of the Finance Assistant will be to provide support across all transactional finance teams, which include Billings, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and payroll.

Payroll and CIS experience would be beneficial.

Reporting to the Financial Controller you will be responsible for:

• General month-end accounting
• Supporting Accounts Payable
• Supporting Accounts Receivable
• Posting accruals and prepayments
• Posting expenses
• Reconciliations

• Assist with the budgeting and forecasting process
• Contribute towards improving information integrity and consistency
• Supporting Payroll
• Supporting the Financial Controller on month end and ad-hoc tasks.

The business deals with high volumes of transactional work; therefore, you must be able to process large volumes accurately and efficiently.

The right person for this role will be one that can suggest process improvements and assist in implementing them. You will be inquisitively minded and be willing to take ownership and responsibility.

You must have advanced Excel skills and will be asked to take an Excel test. Having outstanding attention to detail and strong communication skills is also very important.

You will need to be career driven, part qualified (AAT/ACCA/CIMA) and be someone that wants to progress.
