Job Title : Bid Director

Business Unit & Location: Sales and Solutions Directorate

Reports to: Sales and Solutions Director


To lead the Arvato bid function, working with key stakeholders and SME's in a collaborative manor in order to put together compelling and successful CRM and BPO propositions in both public and private sector markets within the UK.

Role Definitions

Main duties and responsibilities:

Leading the bid management function, managing the existing bid team

Collaborating with the wider sales and solutions team in order to build compelling sales, technology and operational solutions.

Owning the bid process, managing new business opportunities through a structured approach.

Maintaining an overview of the end to end solution across a bid cycle - ensuring that the overall client proposition is compelling, competitive and compliant.

Engaging with SME's from across the business, managing key stakeholders, reporting to the sales director and also into wider board throughout the bid process

Skills, knowledge & Expertise :

Essential:Having managed/worked in a structured bid process in similar/comparable industries

Experience of working closely at Board level

Leadership skills - managing and motivating teams ( both direct reports and indirect contributors)

Excellent influencing and communication skills

Ability to work in flexible manner as each opportunity requires

Ability to forecast and resolve resource or skills contention that could adversely affect bid response capability.

Sound commercial understanding, able to identify the levers which can enhance competitiveness in bid proposals.

Desirable: CRM/BPO bid management expertise. Worked for a competitor in a similar space. Knowledge of both public and private sector markets

Key Measures:

Proven / demonstrable bid management success in relative markets and with similar solutions.

Improving and reporting on bid successes

Role Specific Behaviours :

Ability to lead the overall bid and solution response under tight and often changing time scales .

Displaying resilience - ability to work individually under pressure to ensure final solution response meets the very highest standards of quality and competitiveness
