JOB- Drawing Office Manager / Design Manager

LOCATION- Essex

TERM- Permanent

SALARY- Circa GBP45,000 - GBP50,000 per annum (Dependent on experience, please advise what you're looking for)

My client are a leading supplier of varied technical equipment and machinery to different industries and they are looking to take on a Drawing Office Manager, on a permanent basis, in the Essex area.

The Drawing Office Manager will ideally have the following attributes:

• HNC/ HND/ NVQ/ Degree qualified or similar in Mechanical Engineering
• Essential to have previous experience working within a similar Leadership or Managerial role in a manufacturing technical environment looking after 2 or more Design Engineers
• Proficiency with hands on design still - CAD software preferred is Autodesk Inventor although others may be considered such as SolidWorks and Creo
• Knowledge of workshop fitting and machinery would be ideal
• Be able to work well with colleagues and Managers in other departments
• Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• 7 or more years' industry experience as a minimum
• Be organised, efficient and driven

The Drawing Office Manager role will involve:

• Design Office management looking after other Design Engineers
• Standardising the departments processes and procedures
• Split responsibility carrying out hands on design still too and being involved in projects
• Working with Project Managers and other Department Managers
• Being involved in the design of parts and assemblies and issuing drawings for manufacture
• Using Autodesk Inventor CAD software
