Job Purpose
This Financial Accountant role sits within our Shared Service team reporting to the Senior Finance Manager.

After a period of continued growth, the Shared Service team has been set up to bring together the skills across the group into a team focussed on delivering excellence as the core finance function ensuring the efficient day to day running of the business as well as meeting reporting and delivery service level requirements to internal and external stakeholders.
The Financial Accountant role includes a mix of ongoing monthly quarterly and annual tasks, as well as working on larger projects for the Finance department so an ability to manage time and priorities in a fast-paced environment is critical.
Key responsibilities
- Ownership of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Fixed assets accounting
- Supporting on annual statutory accounts preparation and audit
- External reports and filings including Companies House and ONS
- VAT returns and management of move to Group VAT registration
- Oracle GL structure management
- Standard Operating Procedures management
- Intercompany policies and balance reconciliations
- Supporting members of the Shared Service Centre, wider finance team and business
- Lead and support on various assignments including expansion of Oracle ERP system, process transformation, group harmonisation, acquisition due diligence and other projects.
- Supporting period end close activity ensuring the timely and accurate production of management.
- Ensuring the ERP system is understood and used in the same way across the multiple business areas to ensure consistency and robustness of the data.

- Previous experience of Microsoft Office packages, excel, outlook and word
Qualification/Experience
Essential
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Statutory accounts preparation and audit support experience
- Proficient user of Microsoft Excel
- High level of attention to detail
- Experience of multi-currency and group environment
- GL management experience
Desirable
- Knowledge of Oracle Financials and Hyperion highly desirable
