Print Designer

A fantastic opportunity for a Print Designer to join a successful clothing importer and supplier.
The company supply a range of products to high street retailers and supermarkets including Next, Tesco and the Arcadia Group. You will be designing a commercial range of mens, ladies and childrens nightwear. The working hours are Monday to Friday 9am-5pm. This role is a short term contract for approximately 8 months.

The Role:

• Working within the design team on your own customer key accounts.
• Designing and developing commercial graphics and placement prints.
• Developing ranges to meet the buyer's brief and time deadline.
• Liaising closely with the sales team.
• Have an understanding of design from a technical perspective.
• Keeping up to date with emerging fashion trends - relating to fabrics, colours and shapes.
• Designing and developing a range of products from initial concept to finished product.
• Helping to design, create and produce commercial designs.
• Interpreting trends and translating them to meet the customer profile.
• Researching consumer markets, monitor market trends and identify areas for development.
• Completing tech packs and detailed design sheets for the factories to develop samples.
• Attending fits with customers as needed.
• Delivering products on budget and on brief as per the guidelines.
• Maintaining the company identity and developing their product portfolio.
• Liaising with factories overseas.
• Other duties as required.

Skills Required:

• 2-3 years experience
• Strong CAD skills - good knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Creative flair and good colour sense and commercial awareness.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
