ROUGH SLEEPER CO-ORDINATOR

Full time 37 hours - Variable Shifts (Fixed Term to 31 March 2021)

Do you believe everyone should have a place to call home and the chance to lead a fulfilling life?

Then you could be who we are looking for!

Do you have resilience, a motivational and inspiring personality? Do you have what it takes to coordinate a rapid response service to rough sleepers? If so, this Charity's Rough Sleeper Team could be your ideal next move.

Based at the Bradbury Centre your role will be to provide time limited, intensive interventions to specific rough sleeping cohorts. You will have experience of working with vulnerable people or an understanding of the needs of street homeless people. The need for a flexible approach and the ability to work collaboratively with others is paramount to this role, alongside excellent communication skills, problem solving and the ability to influence others.

Working with a wide variety of agencies, including health services, criminal justice, and the local authority, our client provides an effective and comprehensive service to address the needs of the individual. Their clients are provided with emergency shelter by the Outreach Team and linked in with their Intensive Support Team for a comprehensive needs-and-risk assessment. Offers of accommodation are based on the outcome of the assessment, and may be an offer of a hostel or a supported shared-housing room with the charity for those with more complex support needs, or assistance into the private rented sector with floating support.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will need the demonstrable ability to work within a highly effective, person centred service for service users, some with complex needs. Your experience must include the holistic assessment of need, support and risk, and multi-agency casework planning.

A Full Driving Licence is desirable.

The Company

Our client is a growing Southend-on-Sea based charity working to prevent homelessness and help vulnerable and socially excluded people to transform their lives. Each day their staff and volunteers work with individuals to tackle the underlying causes of homelessness, such as poor mental health or drug and alcohol dependency. From supporting people in crisis to helping them take the final steps towards independence and employment, they make a difference to over 1,000 lives every year.
