Grower / Grower Supervisor

We are working on an exciting opportunity to work with a successful commercial based near Peterborough. Growing in glasshouses, polytunnels and outside across 16 acres, they grow a variety of plants. Supplying their own mail-order business, they also have a packhouse on site. Due to expansion, they are looking for a grower or grower supervisor to join their team. If you are a confident grower looking for a step up, or a grower supervisor looking for a new challenge, then this could be the role for you.

The Job
The role will involve a number of tasks to support the growing operation. You will be responsible for monitoring pest and diseases, applying biological controls and mixing and applying feeds. You will be confident in watering, maintaining glasshouse environments and carrying out general plant husbandry work. As a grower, you will be required to learn how the business operates, and successfully support the nursery in all elements of crop production. If you start the role as a grower supervisor, you will oversee day to day running's of a small team to support the operation.

You
You will have previous experience in a commercial nursery environment, although your growing background can come from a range of crops. You will hold your PA1 and PA6, as spraying is an element of the role. You will be familiar with Microsoft and excel and hold a full UK driving licence. You will be looking to take the next step up and manage a small team within this successful nursery.
