Permanent, Full Time (40 hours per week)


Our client is an independent Housing Association providing excellent housing management services to over 5,200 tenants and 260 leaseholders in Gloucester.
They are looking for a self-motivated individual who is highly organised and can demonstrate a strong customer focus. 
This is an exciting new role that will require you to perform many different tasks, ranging from the undertaking of the monthly Emergency Lighting checks in their various communal areas, to site auditing and electrical EICR testing in the properties they manage. You will have responsibility for the supervision of the in-house electrical team ensuring that the division is working efficiently and effectively, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards whilst ensuring their core values are maintained. Working on your own initiative and as part of the wider team will require you to have good communication and interpersonal skills. 
Being conversant with relevant legislative changes and their Health and Safety policy, conducting risk assessments on specific works and ensuring team understanding will be essential. 
You will be responsible for obtaining the NICEIC accreditation for the business and will have an integral role in assisting their Electrical Manager in growing and developing the Electrical Division. You will implement systems to ensure the NICEIC membership is maintained on an annual basis, by using your extensive knowledge of the electrical regulations and by implementing and using the various industry relevant IT systems available to enable you to perform this.
Applicants will need to demonstrate they have extensive experience and success in this type of role and the commercial understanding to help grow the division.
Finally, you will be assisting the Electrical Manager in implementing innovative ideas that can benefit the organisation and its customers by creating savings. You will play a key role in supporting their Value for Money Strategy, ensuring Property Care operates efficiently, effectively, economically, balancing the need to continually improve and maintain high tenant satisfaction levels.
By joining them you will also become part of their wider Property Care team and you will have a duty to help and assist where required on the day to day maintenance and repair works, you will ensure that your technical knowledge and experience will provide the team with the confidence and assurance that all works are carried out in a safe and timely manner and with pride which is one of their core values. 
Qualifications required to complete this role:

  • City and Guilds 2360 Parts 1 and 2, or
  • NVQ Level 3 Including AM2, or
  • City and Guilds 2330 Levels 2 and 3, or (from Sept 2011)
  • City and Guilds 2357 Including AM2
  • City and Guilds 2391 or 2394/95 (or to have shown competence in the area of Inspection & Testing electrical installations, in accordance with Guidance Note 3 of the IET and have a good knowledge of a variety of electrical installation work. Or to have been assessed by such persons as the NICEIC for the role of Qualifying Supervisor) 
  • City and Guilds 2382-18 
  • A Valid ECS Card 
  • Full Driving Licence
