Credit Controller
The Specialist, Collections will be part of the Finance Team based in Sheffield Office and will report directly into the Team Manager, Finance.
Specialist, Collections will work as part of a team responsible for the cash collections and assessment of customer credit worthiness. They will manage our Accounts Receivable portfolio to ensure timely collection on these accounts, including pursuit of past due accounts.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
* Generate aging report weekly to initiate making collections calls on all past due accounts
* Drive targeted decrease in DSO, by a structured, active pursuit of customers to collect outstanding debt primarily by telephone and email
* Develop and maintain good working relationships with customers via regular contact, either by telephone or email
* Manage customer queries and investigate as required to resolve any invoice queries
* Follow up with Customer if allocation queries arise
* Work with Team Manager, Finance to compile weekly reviews for all accounts receivable ledgers
* Escalate customer billing disputes or customer issues to Team Manager, Finance or Finance Director
* Prepare credit requests as necessary
* Research short paid invoices and overpaid items
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
* Fluency in English required
* Strong communication skills are essential
* Ability to operate on own initiative
* Proficiency in Excel and Word Processing required
* The candidate will need to be self-motivated and have the ability to work autonomously to agreed targets as well as part of team
* Attention to detail is highly important and a structured methodical approach is necessary
* Successful candidates must have the maturity and ability to work on own initiative in a fast paced environment while maintaining quality of work and effective working relationships with both internal and external customers
