I've recently partnered with an expanding Freight Forwarder based in the Leicester area who are seeking an experienced Import/Export Customs Clearance clerk. This is a great opportunity to join the business in a newly appointed position which will progressively grow, resulting in the person taking on further duties within time and potentially becoming a leader within a team.
Applicants will have experience in processing customs entries and dealing with required documentation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Obtain Relevant Custom Documentation
- Process Import and Export entries in ( entries in to CHIEF)
- Ensure HMRC documents are prepped correctly
- Liaise closely with our Operations team to ensure all relevant customs documents have been generated
- Keep up to date with changes in regulations, law and customs procedures
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively
- Collate the information from In-house system to transfer onto customs software
- Deal with all queries quickly and efficiently
The candidate
- Customer focussed, good communication skills.
- Strong organisations skills, prioritising workloads and deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment.
- Excellent customs knowledge, in terms of entries, systems, processes.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in customs clearance /freight forwarding background with good knowledge of imports and exports.
