Health & Safety Co-ordinator
Covering our client’s sites in Camberley and Southampton

The Organisation

Our client is a rapidly growing diagnostics group specialising in infectious diseases. They have a number of successful brands and serve a large global customer base, from hospitals to large corporates.

The group has a history of delivering exceptional products to combat formidable challenges. They developed the world’s first swine flu detection kit, played an important part in uncovering the UK’s horse meat scandal and are currently producing high-performing detection kits to support the fight against COVID-19.

Our client is looking for a Health & Safety Co-ordinator to support the success of two of their brands: a provider of microbiological diagnostic products to the clinical and food industry, and a specialist clinical laboratory.

You will have the chance to play an integral role in the successful running of two of our client’s sites, ensuring they remain compliant and continue to produce medical products of the highest standards.

The Role

As a Health & Safety Co-ordinator, you will ensure that our client’s Camberley and Southampton sites comply with Health & Safety and Environmental legislation and you support a safe and secure working environment for all staff.

In this important role, you’ll embed a positive safety culture across both sites and ensure that best practise is followed at all times. You’ll promote continuous improvement activities and support the consistent maintenance of H&S and environmental policies and procedures in collaboration with Managers.

Specifically, you will:

- Develop and deliver training sessions to meet employee needs
- Lead health and safety committees
- Work with Managers to prepare and carry out risk assessments and complete audits
- Work alongside the Biosafety Officer regarding risk assessments and documentation
- Ensure COSHH guidelines are followed
- Support H&S data collection and reporting
- Co-ordinate fire safety processes

About You

To be considered as a Health & Safety Co-ordinator, you will need:

- Prior experience in a health and safety position
- The ability to interpret H&S legislation and produce written policies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to deliver training
- To be a member of IOSH
- A NEBOSH diploma or equivalent

Experience of working within a medical devices manufacturing environment would be beneficial to your application.
