OPPORTUNITY
This role is an apprentice offering where you will enrolled to obtain a qualification that includes a Level 3 apprenticeship standard and the CIPS Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Procurement and Supply.
JOB DESCRIPTION
My client is a leading HVAC manufacturing and installation solution provider based in Southampton / Eastleigh, who have established a renowned reputation within the industry for their ability to meet the demands of their clients.
We are leading the recruitment to find someone to strengthen the team with a Trainee Category Buyer, who can join the procurement team. This is a fantastic opportunity, which is part of an exciting phase of our Company strategy and growth plans.
The role would ideally suit a recent graduate or someone that is towards the start of their career within procurement. You will be keen to develop and build your career within purchasing, whilst attaining a Level 3 apprenticeship standard and the CIPS Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Procurement and Supply.
To be successful, you will need to be able to commit to 2 years with the client.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assisting the Procurement Manager and providing support to an established Purchasing team, you will be trained to be able to:
Sourcing of new materials and suppliers, price negotiations, supplier audits and procurement activities
Operating our in-house computer systems; MRP (Materials Resource Planning) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning)
Forecasting and demand review against the production schedule
Develop and maintain constructive and profitable relationships with new and existing supply chain partners
Work effectively with an established team with the aim of achieving a positive end result
Build strategic alliances with key partners to enable long term partnerships to form
Establish service level agreements and contracts for all requirements
PERSON SPECIFICATION
The successful candidate must have the following essential requirements: -
A high level of numeracy and keen attention to detail
A logical and analytical approach
Strong interpersonal skills
Proficient in Microsoft packages
An enthusiastic and approachable manner with a proactive, "can do" attitude.
Other:
A knowledge of procurement activities guided by the requirements of ISO9001 would be advantageous
