An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Supply Chain Manager to join a highly advanced specialist engineering business in Stoke-on-Trent. Highly innovative and complex components and equipment across a range of specialist markets. As the Engineering Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible and accountable for the on-time delivery, product quality and cost of machined components and assemblies produced in-house and through a small network of key subcontract partners.

Job Description:

The supply chain approach is based on a mix of category management and operational procurement (supply management) and enables the company to drive greater value from its external supply chain, through better performance and stronger relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.

  • As the Engineering Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for on-time delivery of complex machined components and engineered products.
  • Working closely with all relevant internal departments such as technical, engineering, production, material control and supply chain.
  • As the Engineering Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for managing engineering/manufacturing projects to ensure coordination of activities, satisfied customers on time and on budget.
  • Working with clients' design engineers to optimise production processes and product capability.
  • As the Engineering Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for evaluating, developing and approving by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with subcontract partners and suppliers; ensuring operational integrity and conformity.
  • Strategic and operational decision making for execution of project plans.
  • Ensuring systems are updated to reflect planned and emergent activities.
  • Managing a team and inspiring to achieve goals through innovation, quality and excellence.
  • Regular reporting on KPIs, development and improvement activities.

Candidate Requirements:

  • A degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering/manufacturing/supply chain discipline.
  • Manufacturing leadership experience within Aerospace, Automotive or similar
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques
  • Excellent communication and man-management skills
  • Driving, organised and motivated with the ability to achieve targets under pressure
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Be able to manage quality within recognised standards, e.g. APQP, PPAP, FMEA
  • Experience of leading Continuous Improvement/Change Management activities in areas under direct control and through the supply chain

Hours: 7:00am - 4:00pm

Salary: up to GBP60,000 per annum
