Web Developer/Leeds/Salary up to GBP40,000/WFH

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Web Developer to join one of the world's top 100 Universities. As the Web Developer you'll be working within an experienced Application Development team contributing to the development of new and existing websites used by current and prospective students, researchers and businesses.

You will have the opportunity to work across a range of technologies, systems and programming languages such as PHP, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, WordPress, Jadu, GIT and Azure DevOps. You will be responsible for developing new functionality for the University's web content management systems, optimising enterprise search, optimising page load times and performing essential system upgrades.

What else does your role involve?

  • Your role as a Web Developer will involve effective communication with stakeholders
  • Documentation of work in line with standard operating procedures
  • You'll also be responsible for supporting, coaching and mentoring trainee developers
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to influence system developments

Experience required:

  • Strong PHP coding skills in WordPress or Jadu CMS
  • Experience in HTML5, CSS, JavaScript and GIT
  • Experience of writing system documentation including functional and system design specifications
  • Strong initiative, with excellent organisational and self-management skills
