Proposal/Bid Writer - (Digital Transformation/Stakeholder Management/Content Creation)

Methods are currently looking for a Proposal/Bid Writer to join our exciting bid team in London. You will have a genuine enthusiasm for proposal writing and a passion for digital transformation. Working on large projects across a variety of Public Sector client you will help produce professionally written proposal content that clearly articulates the organisation's value proposition.

This is a networked role that requires an ability to work in collaboration with Bid Managers, Business Managers, Directors, Salespeople, and internal SMEs; often under pressure and to demanding deadlines.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead storyboard sessions with bid/proposal team members and key stakeholders
  • Proactively develop and manage a network of subject matter experts
  • Assist the Bid/Proposal manager in developing a proposal structure
  • Identify and re-work existing pre-written content where relevant
  • Deliver completed written proposal responses to the Bid Manager against agreed RFP deadlines, escalating issues as required
  • Re-write/edit proposal responses from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from sales, marketing, technical/product teams, finance, commercial, legal and delivery
  • Present all new proposal content to the knowledge base manager for potential re-use

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Proven skills in producing and editing proposal content within a complex business environment ideally within the UK Government
  • Experienced in leading storyboarding sessions, participating in key review meetings/final document review, content creation and sign off and document production.
  • Ability to coach sales teams and subject matter experts in writing best practice
  • Ability to communicate and influence at a senior level
  • Strong time management/prioritisation skills
  • Strong written English language skills
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Desirable skills and experience

  • Experience of contributing to a knowledge base system is beneficial
  • Ideally exposure to Frameworks and Service Management, Software Engineering, DevOps, Security, Digital, Cloud and Service Delivery
  • Proposal automation software (or similar) experience

Qualifications

  • Degree educated (ideally English Literature) or journalistic/professional writing background.
  • Advanced MS Word skills & proficient in MS Office.
