Job Title: Allchurches Trust Grants Officer
Location: Home Based
Salary: Commensurate with experience plus a good range of benefits
Duration: Fixed-term (x6 months)
Hours: Part-time - 3 days per week
About the role
Representing the Trust in a wide variety of forums including with beneficiaries, ensuring the successful implementation of the Trust's Grants programmes and recommending grants to the Board for approval. Contributing to the wider strategic development of the Trust in relation to its grant-making policies and playing an active role in the assessment of their impact.
Key accountabilities
?? Taking the lead on implementing the grants programmes agreed by the Grants Committee, advising beneficiaries on the Trust's policies and acting as their key point of contact throughout the application process, including undertaking site visits and assessing each application in accordance with the Trust's agreed grants policies.
?? Attending the Board and the Grants Committee as necessary, advising on key grant applications and acting as the applicant's advocate.
?? Representing the Trust to major beneficiary groups, fostering relationships with key personnel in the Church of England, related organizations, other churches, within the heritage sector and with other charities.
?? Attending and presenting at national and local forums, such as Archdeacons' Forums and the national Churches Together in England Forum.
?? Servicing Committees of the Board, preparing agendas and board papers and taking the lead in discussions and ensuring the implementation of management actions.
?? Contributing to the wider strategic direction of the Trust, taking an active role in the development of the Trust's grant-making policies, suggesting improvements to the grant application process and to the communications strategy of the Trust.
?? Playing a critical role in understanding the needs of beneficiaries and feeding back information to the Grants Committee in a timely manner, to ensure that the Trust is achieving the greatest possible impact with its grant making for its beneficiaries.
?? Playing a lead role in the development and application of deprivation factors across the English dioceses and dioceses of other Anglican Provinces in the British Isles.
?? Maximising the effectiveness of IT systems, tools and processes to develop appropriate MI for the Board (including geo-location mapping) while ensuring ease of use for the applicants.
?? Identifying partners to assist with new grant streams and identifying grant themes for recommendation to the Grants Committee.
?? Overseeing grants to overseas charities in accordance with HMRC guidance.
?? Identifying and feeding content to the Communications team, taking part in PR activity and approving regular additional content for the Trust's website, social media channels and blog pages.
?? Supporting the development of processes for measuring and reporting on impact, ensuring that the work undertaken by the Trust makes a real difference to internal and external stakeholders and that lessons learned inform future policy.
?? Contributing to wider Trust activity, including working with colleagues within EIO and other key stakeholders.
?? Acting as an ambassador for the Trust.

Knowledge, skills and experience
?? Effective communication skills
?? Experience of relationship management.
?? Ability to effectively manage multiple projects
?? Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages and bespoke software packages is essential. Strong IT skills are highly desirable.
?? Strong understanding of Social Media and its influence.
?? Well-established networks across the voluntary sector.
?? Good understanding of the environment that small and local charities are operating in.
?? Proven administrative ability with attention to detail.
?? Basic understanding of the church and charity environments and sympathy with the Trust's primary objective of promoting the Christian Religion.
?? A financial background, especially in a charity environment, is highly desirable
