Job description:

Working alongside the leaders and managers on the site and the global HSE team, this position will lead, champion and drive the effective management of health, safety and environmental risk for the Fibrelite business. This position will provide expertise related to identifying areas of risk and implementing proactive solutions designed to eliminate risks while ensuring compliance with company policy and regulations. In addition, this position will analyse processes, identify operational improvements, and implement cost saving solutions and procedures.

HSE Responsibilities:

  • Champions a strong safety culture through recognised channels
  • Compiles, analyses, and interprets internal/external data to prevent/mitigate HSE risks.
  • Provides monthly EHS updates to OPW corporate leadership team.
  • Reviews written safety and health programs and ensures consistent application across all functions.
  • Develops required EHS safety training curriculum and assists with site implementation.
  • Review and coordinate audit strategy for each operating business based on exposure.
  • Review the industrial hygiene needs for each operating business and serve as a liaison with outside agencies.
  • Maintains corporate safety library/EHS software system. Ensures all operating businesses have access and ability to fully ilize.
  • Promotes safety and health awareness through internal company memoranda, newsletters and specific training programs.

Industrial Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing and implementing Lean Manufacturing concepts and techniques
  • Develop, Install, and Maintain Work Simplification and Cost Reduction Studies
  • Maintain ERP System Bills of Material and Labor Routings
  • Conduct Time Studies to establish Optimum Production Standards
  • Write and Maintain Work Instructions Compiles, analyses, and interprets internal/external data to prevent/mitigate HSE risks.
  • Other duties as may be assigned

Required profile:

Degree/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, or Equivalent.
  • NEBOSH certificate or equivalent
Desired Characteristics:
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to quickly establish credibility, building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Experience in a Health & Safety role within manufacturing
  • MS Office and AutoCAD Experience preferred
