Industrial Design / Product Design Manager

The Burford Recruitment Company are proud to be working exclusively with an award-winning, values-led employer located in the beautiful Oxfordshire Cotswolds. Our client is seeking a highly capable Bespoke Design Manager for a 12-month Maternity Cover contract (30hrs per week).

The Bespoke Design Manager reports into the Operations Director and is responsible for three direct reports within in the Design team. We are there for looking for someone who has the required technical knowledge and capability as well as strong leadership skills. The focus will be on managing, motivating and leading the team who are all working remotely and with this in mind we require you to have demonstrable experience in this area.

In this role, you will manage the successful identification and understanding of the customer's needs and wants for individually designed products and manage the design, development and detailing ensuing they are manufactured to each customer's specification on time and to budget. In addition, you will be responsible for the provision of high-level technical advice and project support to internal and external customers.

You must be passionate about continuous improvement and have a desire to work in a high performing cohesive team environment. You will also require:

?? A Degree qualification in Product Design, Industrial Design, Engineering Design or similar discipline

?? A minimum of 5 years relevant work experience within a relevant professional environment (construction)

?? Experience of managing and/or supervising teams and groups

?? Managing projects from design to assembly

?? A good working knowledge of SolidWorks 3D CAD software (2D CAD is also desirable)
