Senior Legal Counsel

As infection prevention becomes more important in people's lives, the demand for our products have never been higher, and has put GAMA on accelerated growth trajectory. This has led to the need for a Senior Legal Counsel to establish and develop a corporate compliance and legal function. You'll provide general legal advice and risk management across the business and have oversight of Modern Slavery, Anti-bribery, Privacy (GDPR/PECR) and all legal contracts.
What will you do?
- Provide due diligence on all contracts (except employment) to ensure legal and regulatory compliance and GAMA's interests are preserved and protected
- Effectively partner with business leaders to understand implications of contacts and mitigate risk across the business
- Facilitate and proactively resolve business, legal and financial contracting issues
- Serve as the main point of contact internally and externally on contractual matters
- Make appropriate recommendations on new and renewed contracts to support the business to negotiate favourable terms
- Build tools and systems that ensure contractual records and documentation are properly filed, stored and retrievable
- Make clear any impact or risk to contract signatories
- Lead coordination of appropriate business insurance cover
- Support on data protection including GDPR, PECR, e-Privacy

What will you need?
- Previous experience as a commercial lawyer operating either within an in-house legal department or in a professional law firm
- Proven success with contract drafting in a commercial environment
- Demonstrable experience of providing advice at a pace that is consistent with the momentum of the business.
- Capacity to establish and actively manage diverse stakeholder expectations
- Ability to communicate complex legal documents in appropriate detail based on audience
- Experience of effective performance management of contracts in a complex environment
- Experience within healthcare sector (Medical Devices/Medtech) is preferred
- Experience of research contracts and regulatory guidelines and frameworks appropriate to GAMAs business preferable
- Relevant law degree
