An exciting 'brand new' role has arisen with a leading UK-Irish Logistics company, for an experienced Customs Clerk. The role is to cover customs inputting to ensure that all clearance processes are completed in a complaint and timely manner. Excellent training opportunities available.
The ideal candidate will have a customs background in either road, air or sea freight and a good knowledge of customs systems, HMRC regimes and query resolution.
The Candidate;
* HMRC - Customs declarations experience, Imports and exports.
* Knowledge of Irish customs declarations will be advantageous.
* Ideally gained the experience within freight forwarding or logistics business.
* 'Attention to detail' is very important to ensure the business is compliant and passes HMRC audits, including risk identification and mitigation.
* Previous experience within a freight forwarding, logistics or customs clearance position
* A background within Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain.
* Strong communication skills, verbal and written. Interfacing between the management team, HMRC, Irish customs, suppliers and end Customers
* Good organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize workloads.
* Strong customer service skills
* Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
* Competent decision making
Duties and Responsibilities;
* Ensuring that all clearance processes are completed in a complaint and timely manner.
* Work with a team of Import / Export / Shipping specialists.
* Report to the Customs Compliance Manager and to help set-up and maintain new processes as required.
* To ensure the company is fully compliant with the requirements of HMRC and other relevant bodies. And ensure good query resolution
* Support and advice customers on all international import / export requirements especially with new processes brought upon by Brexit. The ideal candidate will have a customs background but the critical quality required is attention to detail.
