Technical Stores Buyer
Tutbury, East Staffordshire

Our client are an International Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) organisation managing its customers' indirect material spend via an integrated e-procurement platform. Their client list includes multinational organisations such including high end automotive manufacturers to global pharmaceutical manufacturers to leading food manufacturers.

Their offering in the market is unique - this is why they continue to grow at a phenomenal rate. They have more than doubled in size over the last six years, growing their turnover from GBP84m to GBP300m.

In 2017 they acquired another business and recently moved into new premises to accommodate the growth. Headquartered in Warrington (Birchwood) but with over 350 stores across the UK, Europe and Singapore and recently expanded into Ireland, Germany, Sweden, France and Slovakia.

As a result of the growth, we are now looking a Engineering Stores Envoy to work on site within one of their sites in Burton On Trent.

As the Technical Stores Buyer, As a front facing representative of the client you will be responsible for:

* Material Procurement and replenishment procurement for categories that may include indirect materials and supplies.
* Material sourcing and purchasing, including maintenance items, spare parts, (fittings, tools, hoses, etc.).
* Consumable items such as PPE, fasteners, lab supplies and tooling.
* Front-end procurement role - Analyses data and determines factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
* Support with material planning and replenishment procurement for the engineering department.
* Purchases all indirect materials, including spot buys, project items, stock room items and BOM items deemed as indirect material.
* Comply with all aspects of Supply Agreements pertaining to timeliness of forecasts, purchase orders, pricing, and contractual minimums.
* Communications and reporting to monitor status of planned receipts to ensure supplier adherence to schedule and quantity requirements, escalating issues and expediting as necessary.
* Gather information and report trends related to inventory levels and procurement patterns.
* Provide regular and effective communication updates regarding new items and on-hand inventory.
* Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, follow up orders placed, approves payment and maintains necessary records of material movement throughout the procurement process.
* Prepare and present information and reports to management as needed.
* Supplier Management of assigned suppliers to ensure reliable delivery and quality, escalating issues and progressing as necessary.
* Ensure purchased materials are delivered on schedule, invoiced properly, and meet quality standards. Ensure shipments are complete and follow-up with suppliers on discrepancies.
* Participate in the supplier evaluation process.
* Coordinating with manufacturing and engineering personnel to ensure appropriate technical requirement and schedule

Desired Skills and Experience

* Minimum 3 years of supply chain management experience utilizing formal ERP material requirements planning systems, ideally SAP or similar.
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent directly relevant experience / certifications required. Certifications by the Institute of Supply Management, APICS CPIM or CSCP or equivalent strongly desired.
* Strong analytical and computer skills required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook) required.
* High degree of initiative and ownership, as well as a proven history of delivering results while working with several different departments in a fast-paced environment. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment. Ability to collaborate in a team environment, while also working independently.
* Must have ability to work and remain organized and flexible. Must have ability to adjust priorities to meet changes in departmental and company requirements.
* Ideally the candidate will have substantial knowledge of and broad experience in engineering supply chain management and procurement practices (MRO).
