Process Assistant - Payroll/Finance

Role Overview

Working as a Team Member within Payroll on the Reconciliation Query, Expenses Compliance and, Relocation Team.

The team is responsible for investigating and resolving costing discrepancies between the General Ledger and Payroll. This ensures that payroll debt is pursued and correct payments are made to third parties. This is across multiple Clients using a range of payroll software.

Day to Day Responsibilities

  • Process work in line with agreed procedures, business rules or scripts - Processing work could include making calls, answering telephone, emails, queries, taking messages or processing transactions.
  • Learn the procedures and understand parameters of producing a quality output.
  • Resolve queries, escalate as necessary (i.e. a team leader/manager/other group), and log if appropriate.
  • To schedule and prioritise allocated work on a daily basis.
  • Support line management on any additional admin when required.
  • Liaise with internal/external clients.

Suitable Skills:

  • Experienced in working within a finance environment with the ability to understand or learn potentially complex payroll processes or policy
  • 5 GCSEs level A-C in English and Maths or Equivalent
  • High attention to detail and effective problem solver
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to achieve accurate and timely delivery of tasks;
  • Effective team player, who constantly displays commitment and flexibility;
  • Experience of Microsoft Excel
  • AAT desirable
